Remote Support

Feature Description
Remote Assistance Provide remote assistance to any user on a managed computer. The user requests remote assistance using the included Support Center application, and OptiTune will notify you when a remote assistance request is received.
Remote Connect Remotely connect to any managed computer, and control its desktop with your keyboard and mouse. You can login or switch between desktop sessions on the remote computer by sending the Ctrl-Alt-Del command.

Note that the remote assistance / remote connect software was developed by Bravura Software LLC as a high performance solution for OptiTune, and is not a repackaged open source solution (e.g. VNC).
End User Remote Access Using OptiTune's powerful Remote Connect technology, you can provide end users with the ability to remotely connect to their own computers.
Remote Command Prompt Have you ever wanted to start a command prompt on a managed computer right from your web browser? OptiTune lets you do so, so you can quickly peform simple administrative tasks using the windows command prompt you already know. Go to the computer details page, and click on "Command Prompt" to start the web based command prompt, with a real time, live connection to any computer managed through OptiTune.
Remote PowerShell Similar to the Remote Command Prompt, the Remote PowerShell provides you with a remote PowerShell right in your browser. It is fully featured, and can handle advanced international Unicode character input and output.
Remote Task Manager View all running processes on a remote computer, end processes, change process priorities, and more. Also, view live graphs of CPU, Memory, Disk, and Network usage, in a similar fashion to the task manager built into windows. The graphs are updated in realtime, giving you a better handle on any performance problems for a server or client computer.
Remote Services Manager Manage all windows system services from this tool. Start, Stop, Pause, and Resume any system service, or change the startup type (Manual, Disabled, Automatic, etc...). View which services are running, and which have stopped, and more.
File Transfer During a remote assistance or remote connect session, you can transfer/copy files between your computer and the computer you are connected to. Or, initiate a file transfer to any managed computer directly from the computer details page.
Firewall/NAT Traversal The remote connect software works even when both computers are behind firewalls, since all that is needed is an outgoing HTTPS connection to the OptiTune relay servers.

A global network of relay servers in 15 distinct geographic locations is used to facilitate the fastest possible remote connect session.

If a local network connection to the remote computer is available, it will be used instead.
Support Center The Support Center is a client side application included with OptiTune. It provides an end user with support options for requesting help. The administrator can decide which groups of computers will have the Support Center application enabled, and which support options are available. The Support Center application can also be fully customized (branded) with your company's logo and information.

Monitoring and Alerting

Feature Description
Monitoring and Alerting OptiTune can actively monitor for events, and alert you when they occur. The list of events, event categories, notification groups, mail templates, and subscriptions can all be customized.
Email Alerting Alert administrators to important events by sending them email messages.
SMS Alerting Alert administrators to important events by sending them SMS text messages. There is no extra charge for SMS messaging.
Mail Templates Customize the format and content of the email message templated used to send alerts, as well as the SMS message template. Specify HTML or plain text format. You can also add your own company's branding to alert emails, and precisely define how alerts are displayed within an email.
Notification Groups Define various groups of users to notify with a "notification group". You can choose from the list of current OptiTune administrators, as well as add other members by specifying their email addresses and/or SMS numbers.
Events Customize the list of events that are available in OptiTune. Create, delete, rename, and edit events. Each event has the following components:
  • Name
  • Description
  • Severity
  • Categories
  • Type
  • Parameters
You can also load a default list of events at any time.
Alert Subscriptions Subscribe a notification group to a list of event categories, for a given group of computers. You can assign different groups of administrators to be responsible for specific groups of computers.
Alert Subscription Scheduling Create a weekly schedule for when a notification group can be notified of new alerts. Specify various days of the week and times for the weekly schedule. This is useful for when you only want to notify certain administrators of events during certain times (e.g. core business hours, weekends, weeknights, etc...).
Alert History View the list of all alerts which have occurred in your organization, all in one place.

Application Deployment

Feature Description
Install Applications Deploy applications to client computers through OptiTune. OptiTune comes with a special "package creator" tool, which is a guided wizard for packaging applications for deployment.

Application packages can be hosted in OptiTune using your account's included Cloud Storage, distributed through your own HTTPS server/Amazon S3/Azure, or through local network shares to save bandwidth and speed up installation.

Step by step help guides are included for deploying popular applications, like Microsoft Office. The package creator tool also helps you easily package other applications.
Prepackaged Applications Packaging a single application for deployment can take a significant time investment. With prepackaged tasks, you can deploy popular applications almost instantly by importing commonly used applications that have been professionally packaged by Bravura Software's support engineers.
Cloud Storage Each organization in OptiTune is granted a minimum of 5 GB storage for installer packages, scripts, and any other files you wish to store or make available for download.
Uninstall Applications Uninstall applications on client computers using OptiTune. To uninstall an application, multiple methods can be used including: the Windows Installer, command line, or the uninstall registry key.

Create uninstall tasks easily by clicking on a single button, when viewing applications installed on a computer.
Repair Applications Use OptiTune to perform a repair of an MSI based application on a client computer, if a user is experiencing trouble using an application.

Automation

Feature Description
Scripting Deploy scripts to client computers through OptiTune. Supported scripting technologies include:

CCleaner Business Edition OptiTune includes an integration with CCleaner Business Edition. CCleaner is one of the most popular PC cleaning and optimization utilities, with over 2.5 billion downloads and 5 million installs per week.
Datto Autotask PSA OptiTune's deep integration with Autotask lets you seamlessly synchronize customers from Autotask to OptiTune. Once you have assigned computers to these customers in OptiTune, they can be synchronized as configuration items in Autotask, with quick access links in Autotask to manage the computer, or connect to it remotely from OptiTune.

You can also setup tickets to be created in Autotask automatically, whenever an alert is generated in OptiTune, and define a ticket template to use when creating each ticket.
ConnectWise Manage PSA OptiTune's deep integration with ConnectWise Manage lets you seamlessly synchronize customers from ConnectWise Manage to OptiTune. Once you have assigned computers to these customers in OptiTune, they can be synchronized as configurations in ConnectWise Manage, with quick access links in ConnectWise Manage to manage the computer, or connect to it remotely from OptiTune.

MSP360 Managed Backup You can use OptiTune to deploy the MSP360 Managed Backup Agent, configure the agent, and view detailed reports on each computer’s backup jobs. You can also view backup summaries for groups of computers, and detailed backup job histories.

Patch Management

Feature Description
Windows Updates Install windows updates, and view information on available updates for all computers. Define specific include and exclude filters for installing updates to a computer or group of computers. View detailed update status for each computer, aggregate update status for groups of computers, and detailed update information.
Windows Update Group Policy Set local group policy to only allow the OptiTune agent to install updates, not windows itself. Also, you can set the download mode to allow peer to peer distribution of windows updates, or even set a WSUS server for more control.

Malware Protection

Feature Description
Antivirus Integration OptiTune integrates with 3rd party Antivirus software that you already own, or in many cases is free.

Execute antivirus scans, see which computers have unresolved threats, and get detailed information on each threat detected. Schedule automatic scans, signature updates, and more. View a threat summary, which shows the number of computers affected by each threat.

Customizable Fields Define your own customizable fields to store with each computer, and their allowed values. Text fields, dates, integers, dropdowns and checkboxes are all supported.

Cloud Based Management Server Manage computers from any device with an HTML5 browser and an internet connection, at https://manage.opti-tune.com.

Access the OptiTune management server from:

All managed computers don't need to be on the same physical network, since they communicate with the management server over the internet using HTTPS.

This allows roaming users with sporadic internet access to be managed through OptiTune, as well as those behind firewalls.
Self Hosting Option You can self host the OptiTune Management Server on your own physical server, or on another cloud service.

Multiple Accounts Create multiple administrator accounts in OptiTune, to allow more than one IT professional to manage your organization's computers.

You can also create multiple "Report Viewer" accounts, which can only view reports. Or, create "Remote Assistance Technician" accounts who can only view reports, and handle Remote Assistance requests from end users.

Finally, for larger organizations, you can restrict an account to only operate on a designated group or business entity. Or, for managed service providers, add a customer as a "Report Viewer" with access restricted to only his or her company's computers.
Two Factor Authentication When logging in, your OptiTune user account can be authenticated by either a password, or a combination of a password or code that is sent by text message to your phone, or email.
Auditing All user actions inside OptiTune are audited, including the IP Address, web browser, page path, and changes to all configuration data.

Management Website Branding Brand the OptiTune Management Website with your own company name, logo, colors, and even CSS styles. Your own vanity domain is included for logging in and using your customized management website.
Support Center Branding Brand the OptiTune Support Center with your own company name, logo and icon.

End users will only see your branding, and won't be aware that their computer is managed through OptiTune.
Lightweight Agent The OptiTune agent software is distributed as a single executable, which you install on each client computer. It runs silently in the background as a system service, so computers that don't have logged in users can still be managed. The OptiTune agent is also easy to remove, since it is packaged as a single executable, and includes an uninstall entry in Add/Remove Programs.
Customizable Agent Installer For an end user friendly installer that is fully customizable with your own branding, company name, and logos, you can generate a custom installer which will install the OptiTune agent on a computer. You can even change the application name and publisher name, so the user won't even know you are using OptiTune, and will only see your branding information.
Computer or Group Management You can assign individual computers to groups that you create, use the built in groups, or define membership rules to automatically assign computers to a group.

For all settings and reports in OptiTune, you can manage them using a group of computers, or individual computers.
Organization Structure Define a hierarchy which accurately reflects your organizational structure, as it relates to your IT assets and computers. You can define a hierarchy of Departments, Sites, Companies, and Customers. This feature makes it easier to manage thousands of computers that may belong to different companies, internal departments, or physical locations. It's also quite useful for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) that manage many different customers, all from the same OptiTune organization.
REST API OptiTune includes a powerful and comprehensive REST API for automating activity in OptiTune, and integrating other systems with OptiTune. You can use the OptiTune REST API to do almost any action you can accomplish through the regular web management console. In fact, given enough resources and time, the OptiTune REST API is powerful enough to let you implement an entirely different web management console, just by adding a layer on top of the REST API.
