With modern PCs, software bloat has become a major problem.  Whether you have just purchased a new computer, or are using a much older one, chances are it is littered with many pieces of software that you don’t use or understand, and slow it down.

Many of these programs came with your computer when you first purchased it, or were installed with other software.  Your PC also has several system settings and services which often slow it down (especially on Windows Vista™).  But how are you supposed to know which ones can safely be adjusted, and which ones can’t?
