Registration

When you first start it up, it will ask you if you want to register it. Follow the instructions on screen to do so.

Or, you can click here to purchase Easy Computer Sync, and a registration code will be sent to you. You can then enter this code when Easy Computer Sync prompts you to do so.

If you purchased option (A) - Software CD and Cable, the package you receive by mail will contain your registration code printed on the CD envelope.

If you purchased option (B) - Software Only, you will typically receive an email within 5 minutes with the registration code. Note that during times of high activity, this may take up to 24 hours. The email will be sent to the email address you supplied when purchasing Easy Computer Sync. Also, after purchasing this option, you will be immediately redirected back to our website, where your registration code will be provided right away.

For the software only, it costs $19.95 USD for one user license, which allows you to use it on up to 4 computers.
Or, you can purchase the complete package, which includes the Software on CD plus an Easy Transfer Cable for $24.95.

Trial Functionality

You can only synchronize one folder at a time, and cannot add custom folders. But, there is no limitation on the amount of data you can transfer.

Usage

There are 3 easy ways to start it, once it has been installed:
  1. By double clicking its icon on your desktop (look for the blue 'S')
  2. Through the Start Menu > Programs > Easy Computer Sync
  3. By connecting an Easy Transfer Cable. After you do so, a menu will appear, which lets you launch the program.
Follow these steps:
  1. Start Easy Computer Sync on both computers
  2. On each computer, press 'Next' until you get to the "Connection" screen
  3. Plug in your Easy Transfer Cable into both computers. Now, the connection will be detected, and the program will advance to the "Selection" screen.
  4. On one computer, select the folders you would like to synchronize, such as "My Documents", "My Pictures", etc..., or choose a custom pair of folders to synchronize.
  5. Press Next. You will see the progress of the synchronization. After it finishes, you can view a report of what was transferred.
Here are some tips if you are having problems getting Easy Computer Sync to move past the connection screen:
  • Both computers need to have Easy Computer Sync installed. If you need to install Easy Computer Sync, click here to do so.
  • Both computers need to be connected with an Easy Transfer Cable, and at the “Connection Screen” in order to make the connection.
  • Plug the Easy Transfer Cable directly into your computers (not through a hub) if at all possible.
  • If the cable is connected, but you are stuck on the connection screen on both computers, recheck the connection, or try using a different port on each computer. Over time, some USB ports on your computer can wear down with repeated use. For example, if you always plug your USB thumb drive into one USB port, try using a different port to plug in the Easy Transfer Cable.
  • If you are still having problems establishing the connection, unplug all non-essential USB devices (such as printers, scanners, external drives) from each computer.

On most screens, you will see a blue question mark (?) icon in the lower left corner. Click on this to bring up the help system. Or, you can also press the "F1" key at any screen, or use the (?) box at the top right of the screen.
